Experienced guides present the city’s different aspects in an interesting way – a good guide is an interpreter of history and time. There are about 15 authorised tourist guides in Pori.

Guided tours: Pori

A guided bus tour represents an easy and comfortable way of getting to know the region. We provide groups with their own buses with a wide variety of guided bus tours, whether they be traditional or tailor-made to suit your group. Guided bus tours can be booked all year round at Pori Regional Tourist Agency, which also supplies guides by Porin Opaskilta ry (The Guide Guild of Pori).

A short guided tour of the city - total duration 1hour
Provides you with a general overview of the City of Pori and its sights.

A tour of 1.5 hours
In addition to the basic tour (duration 1 hour) we will visit either the Middle Pori Church or the most venerated building in Pori, the town hall. This tour can also be conducted on foot, allowing you to get to know a host of interesting places in greater detail.

"The Kirjuri Tour" - a summery walking tour, total duration 2.5 hours
During this walk you will become familiar with the small natural park of Kirjurinluoto, located close to the city centre. "Kirjuri" is an island in the Kokemäenjoki River and has been a leisure time attraction for the inhabitants of Pori for decades.

We will have a coffee break in the atmospheric summer restaurant on the island. After the coffee break, the tour will continue and we will visit the Hanhipuisto show garden located at the other end of the island, where you will be enchanted by the hardy, beautiful perennial trees, bushes and flowers of the Pori region.

"The sea and its atmosphere" - total duration 3 hours
After a short tour of the city, we will head for Meri-Pori. We will visit the Yyteri leisure area, the port and the idyllic Reposaari island with its wooden houses.

Finland's biggest wind power plant and its four wind mills line the bluff road leading to the island. You will obtain interesting information on wind power at the information centre of Hyötytuulipuisto. In Reposaari, we will visit the Norwegian-style fjeld church, the fishing port and the fortress park.

City train Poritar
In the summertime you can see the sights of Pori in comfort by taking the city train, Poritar, from the market square. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and there is one departure per hour from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The train stops at the railway station on the market square/Yrjönkatu. Tel. Tourist card
Independent travellers can investigate the Pori region by buying a tourist card. This card enables you to travel without any limitations in the area of the City of Pori. The card is valid on buses operated by Porin Linjat Oy, Bussi-Ketonen and Ruosniemen Linja-auto Oy.
