Seniors in Merikarvia, the municipality of the river and the sea – a guided daytrip
Minimum size of group: 10 - 50 persons.

Lunch
The owners of the Hirvikoski estate present rural livelihoods: accommodation services provided by farmhouses and sawmilling. A delicious lunch prepared from the farm's own products is served in Lauri's shed in the farmhouse’s courtyard (duration approximately 2 hours). Optionally, you can have lunch in the Krookka messi, restaurant Villiruusu or the Vanha-Heikkilä Inn in Merikarvia village.

A guided tour of the village
Includes visits e.g. to the Merikarvia church (the biggest wooden church in Scandinavia to be used all year round), Gallery Vanha Savu and a veterans’ dugout by the Holmankoski rapids in the village’s centre.

Coffee break
An atmospheric coffee break in the Vanha-Heikkilä Inn, in the dugout or in the Mericamping Camping site’s spectacular marine landscapes. Option to have a sauna or swim. After the coffee break, we will visit the art exhibitions in Gallery Vanha Savu or learn about local fishing traditions in the fishing museum.

Fishmonger Santa Ky
A visit to a fishmonger in the Krookka port. Smoked fish can be purchased.

Ateljee/Atelier Heljä-Tuulia
A visit to artisan and textile artist Heljä Lindgren’s atelier. A wide variety of unique products and giftware in the port’s former school building.
